Hi! I am Nelson Tan Yan Cong, a 20+ years old Singaporean living in the west of Singapore. I am a male serving National Service since 24th July 2009. I am a chinese speaker trying to do a English portfolio in order to reach the mass.
I am a funny person in real life. Whenever i first met strangers and introduced my name, Nelson Tan, they laughed.
I am very creative, good in arts, media, programming and music. This site shows some of my works i did, which includes from web design to music compositions, graphic design to film making, performing to script writing etc, all under one roof at nelsontyc.com.
I played lots of instruments. I am able to play erhu, piano, violin, harmonica, guitar, dizi, recorder etc. Click on the instrumental cover to view my youtube videos of me playing various instruments. I composed lots of music pieces too, which is shown at the original music section.
I am good in coding too. I created lots of blogskins and websites. This web portfolio you are viewing now is also done by me. Some of my notable works are chinese-orchestra.com, a site dedicated to Chinese Orchestra lovers from Singapore, as well as sgwonderfuls.com, a Singapore fan site for wonder girls.
I created quite a few of notable short films too. “My Girlfriend” film, a short film that i directed, written and edited, has gotten more than 80,000 views in youtube. My new film, “The Journey of Sparky”, is a mix of 3d character and real life footage with extensive use of visual effects and CGI graphics.
